Yoga/Sea Kayaking Trip
Relax, Retreat, Rejuvenate
Come and explore the beauty of the Georgian Bay shoreline with us on our yoga/sea kayaking adventure.
Whether yoga is your passion and sea kayaking is something you’d like to try or perhaps it’s the other way around, or perhaps you haven't tried either but just need to get away and have some fun, then this is the trip for you. There’s no experience needed for this adventure, just a willingness to spend a few days stretching, paddling, exploring, eating good food and relaxing! Sound like something you could handle? Then read on!
The Yoga
Our resident yogi on the trip, Sophia, will lead us through two challenging and joyful practices each day aimed at opening our mind and body in preparation for the rhythm of paddling. We will begin with an early morning meditation and rigorous practice, filled with energetic sun salutations. Each asana (or pose) that we practice will promote increased flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and improve our circulation. Just as these asanas were practices centuries ago to prepare the yogi for long periods of sitting in silent meditation, our practice will encourage us to sit with more self-assuredness and awareness in our kayaks as we fall in sync with the natural flow of the water that surrounds us.
The beautiful surroundings will provide the perfect stage for novice and experienced yogis/paddlers alike to celebrate as they witness the power of personal transformation. Each evening we will complete another practice taking advantage of all of the movement of the day to lengthen into your stretches, working with each other to develop our skills, and finish with a calming Vinyasa flow and meditation as the sun sets over the horizon.

The Kayaking
The kayaking and tripping portion of our trip will be lead by James and Dympna your certified wilderness guides and Paddle Canada Instructors.
After our morning yoga practice we will enjoy breakfast and then begin our kayak adventure. We'll pack up our campsite and head out to discover a new destination to set up camp for the evening. It’s impossible to say exactly where we will camp each night as the possibilities are endless, we literally have countless beautiful islands to choose from. The group will travel at a pace that is comfortable for everyone on the trip. We’ll generally stop at around 4pm so that we can relax, have a swim, read a book, explore the island and rest.
We will begin our trip at Britt, paddling out Byng Inlet to the northeastern shores of Georgian Bay. We’ll travel north exploring stunning island archipelagos such as the Cunningham’s and Churchill’s and many in-between.
