I have a hood (expidition) and love it. Other than obvious protection and sun shade the hood is great when practicing rolling by keeping water out of the ears.

Ted, you missed out. We didn't need rescuing this time and we were able to eat more Chinese food than last time. Of course Tom made us paddle up river - something I always try to avoid.

Hi Mike,
I used to live in the Thousand Islands at Lansdowne. I don't think the boat traffic would be much of an issue. Yes it picks up in the summer but it never really seemed that busy. It certainly isn't anything like the Honey Harbour Highway experience. I don't know where one could camp. Everything is owned but there must be somewhere to pitch a tent. There is a couple of provincial parks. There is some good current in certain spots.

Looks like good weather tomorrow so...
I'm going to take the day off and drive up to Pete's place to paddle through Massassauga park tomorrow. Have extra space on truck if anyone's interested.
on the water in the morning - off in the evening.
