Anyone wanting to experience their first weekend paddle/camp trip of the season please join myself and several others on the weekend of April 16-18 to Beausoliel Island. We'll launch from the village of Honey Harbour around 10am and head up to honeymoon bay to set up our camp sites. From there you have the option of hiking the trails or an afternoon paddle to meet up with others who are arriving later in the afternoon(you also have that option if your unable to make the morning launch). Saturday we'll head up to Bone Island for a few hours before making our way back to the camp site. This is a great spot to visit before the cottagers and boaters arrive to take in the piece and quiet. This trip is a GLSKA posted trip however non members are always welcome to come along to see what the club is about and hear about other member experiences. For those of you who have not been to this area the site does have two outhouses, camping platforms, picnic tables and a cooking shelter if it happens to rain. If your interested in coming along or want for information please drop me a line at croneygerald@hotmail.com.

Hi Gerry,
Thanks for posting a trip for everyone. I wish we could go! We would be there for sure except we're teaching that weekend. To everyone else, I'm sure you've heard James and I talk about GLSKA and how great their organization is. It's run by volunteers, all trips are lead by more experienced paddlers who volunteer their time to take newbies out. It's really inexpensive to join and you'll have a blast! What a great way to enjoy your kayak.
It's a good idea to take a Level One Skills course before you head out onto the Bay, but that's not a plug for us! Just some solid advice :0)
As a paddler you always want to be an asset on a trip not a hindrance to your fellow paddlers so take the time to learn your rescues before you head out with a group.
Okay, I'll take my instructors hat off and just say, Have a Blast! Take lots of pictures, hopefully with your learntokayak.ca reflective sticker so you can win that Werner Carbon Bentshaft!
I'll let others know...by the way, when is the GLSKA spring rendezvous? Paddlers would probably like to know about that!
