Upper Niagara River Kayak Tour March 20th
Post Upper Niagara River Kayak Tour March 20th
by CARLA on 02/25/2010 20:17

Join me on a circumnavigation of Navy Island in the upper Niagara River just south of the cataract! From there we will follow the shore of Grand Island then cross back into Canadian waters and let the current assist us back to our vehicles.

Beach lunch.

Launch time: 10:30 a.m.

Tour date: Saturday, March 20, 2010

Launch location: Upper Niagara River boat ramp, just south of the village of Chippawa, across from Navy Island.

I do not have GPS coordinates but if you can locate the intersection of the Niagara River Parkway and Weinbrenner Road, you will be pretty much at the boat ramp where we will be launching. Parking and launching are free. Tipping the tour leader, encouraged.

I look forward to seein' y'all on the water!!!

There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. The Wind in the Willows

Hi Carla!
Thanks for posting this paddle, it a nice change from Burlington Beach or Bronte Beach or Toronto Island! James and I are in, we just have to be back in Burlington by 5:00 so we can get to our Learn To Roll Clinic in time.
Any chance you can post a google maps link for us? Or give us an address close by for our GPS?
Thanks!
Dympna

I'm sorry, I hadn't checked our instruction schedule. We have a skills clinic for our instructor candidates from 9:00-12:00 on Saturday March 20th so we can't join you. Hopefully next time!

Post Not over the Falls
by steve on 03/25/2010 16:15

I want to report a lovely paddle last w/e. So nice to be out with some like minded people. Weather was great, birds were dangerous, falls was in sight, large industrial complexes abound, trip leader wanted everyone to paddle on ahead.... what is that mist? What is this about the homeland security cameras and jet boat response times?
Thank you Carla!
... and Justin, just sign the damn waiver!
A pleasure to meet you all.
