Custom Courses
The beauty of learntokayak.ca is that we have no base. So if it more convenient for you, we can take our show on the road and teach your group a custom course. If you can rustle up a minimum of 6 participants we can bring all the necessary equipment to your cottage or local lake. The best part is, it wont cost you more than a regular course, we come to your group so there are less cars on the road, and you get to choose the dates and times!!

Private Instruction "Rent an Instructor"
For those of you who learn better without a crowd we also offer one on one instruction.The beauty or our "Rent an Instructor" program is that you can choose which skills you want to review.

We offer one on one rolling lessons. We suggest you have a strong hip flick and are competent at your bow assisted rescues before spending any money on a private rolling lesson. It’s a great idea to partner up with another kayaker for this session as you can then take the skills we’ve taught you and go out and practice together by Bow rescuing each other as you practice your rolling technique.
Rolling is a valuable skill that takes practice to achieve. Private rolling sessions are a great place to learn the fundamental skills and an excellent way to have your developing skills critiqued along the way.
Rescue Sessions

We also offer private rescue sessions teaching self-rescues, as well as partner assisted rescues. Build your confidence and improve your safety on the water! This is also a great idea to brush up on any skills that just need a little refreshing!
Note: Please bring appropriate gear for the water temperature,a change of clothing and footwear that can get wet, a windbreaker jacket is also advised.
"Rent an Instructor" Price: $45 / hour per individual, $25 / hr for each additional person
Minimum: 2-hour sessions.
