Our Paddle Canada Intro to Kayaking certification course introduces the novice to paddling a kayak in calm, sheltered waters.
This course is ideal for people who want to be safe paddling their kayak in Cottage Country or just wanting to learn the basics to safely get out on the water.

We also cover theory as well as skills so take advantage of our knowledge and bring along a list of any questions you may have. We know that when you first get into kayaking it can be confusing; there's so much gear out there! This is your chance to get a straight answer in terms of what to buy and what not to buy. We'll also discuss boat design and the different styles of kayaks, recreational, light touring and full sea kayak touring boats. If you're not sure which boat is the best fit for you, come out and take a course first so that you can make an educated purchase.

Learn to kayak with us, we'll help you learn the skills of adventure!
Prerequisites: None
What to Bring:
• We will supply a kayak and gear if needed ($20 for the day) but definitely bring your own if you have one.
• Your lunch, a water bottle and snacks!
• Pen and paper for any notes you may wish to take.
• Swimwear for the rescue sessions.
• One or two changes of dry clothes as well as a towel.
• Shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
• Layered clothing as well as a windbreaker or rain jacket if the weather that day calls for it. Avoid cottons.
• If you have a wetsuit or semi-dry top or dry-top by all means bring it and wear it.
• Water bottle, hat, suntan lotion, camera
• Sunglasses, with strap, if you don’t want to lose them!
• A list with any and all questions you may have…from gear questions to trip questions
Class ratio: 1 instructors, 6 students
Cost: $180 + tax (Kayak and equipment rental $20 for the day)
