At learntokayak.ca we have the certified and insured courses that you need to progress from a complete beginner to a seasoned kayak tripping, rolling, surfing guru. Or maybe you are just happy to successfully paddle in a straight line, or to not capsize! Wherever you want to get we will take you there.

Select the course level from the menu on the right starting from Introduction to Kayaking for complete beginners and progressing to our big water Level 3 course. If you just want to tidy some skills up then why not try one of our Skill Clinics.

Cottage Country Kayak Course

learntokayak.ca is now happy to be offering Cottage Country Kayaking Courses. These courses take place at three locations; Gull Lake in Gravenhurst, Port Carling and Waubaushene. This three hour program has been designed to teach beginners and new kayak owners how to safely get the most out of their boats.

Our Paddle Canada certified and insured Instructor will meet you at the agreed put-in and start by teaching you how to successfully and gracefully enter and exit your kayak. The rest of the 3 hour course will consist of safely wet-exiting (cooling off) your kayak and learning rescue techniques to get back into your boat. Our Instructor will also give you pointers on your paddling strokes during a tour to make them as efficient as possible. As well as efficiency and safety this course has a big emphasis on having fun and playing with our boats. Come prepared to get wet and leave with a smile on your face.
