As it turns out some of us will be on a three day paddle to Franklin Island on May 13-15th with GLSKA. As a result, for many of us, May 15th will not work.

Will the rest stops be on your "need-be basis" or ours?

I'll have to pass on this on as I expect to be out paddling the Franklin Islands that weekend with Gerry and the GLSKA crew.
Just be weary if the "SS Minnow" signs up for the trip.

Count me in.
I've really missed the opportunity this winter to paddle with enough crazy people. We just had too much snow and I couldn't seem to pass on the great opportunities to ski.

The Long Point area is probably not at its best right now and I personally would not have chosen to paddle Lake Erie for the first time in November. On the other hand how many more of these birthday things are you planning on having in November anyways?
If it wasn't for your sparkling personality I might be having second thoughts about making the drive.
Let us know what the heck is going on when you get around to deciding the agenda.

Looks like I'm in for your "3 hour tour". I'm never sure what I'm getting myself into when I paddle with you but I have yet to be disappointed!

3:00 am Marine forecast - Western Lake Ontario
Strong Wind Warning
20 Knot winds NW, diminishing this afternoon
Waves: Temp: +2C
Winds: 15-24 km/hr
Conditions look challenging but manageable. Within the park area we will be on smaller bodies of water and will be less effected by the winds and waves. We can always change our plans and cross the Eastern Gap and paddle up the inner Toronto Islands channel if we want. As a group we can decide at Cherry Beach.
If you are going to cancel please call me so that we won't be waiting for you.

Anyone up for a paddle out of Cherry Beach on Sunday May 9th?
The plan is to launch from Cherry Beach at 10:00 am on Sunday. The weather report is for 40% showers which is far better than what they have to say for Saturday! The plan is to explore the Tommy Thompson Park area across from Cherry Beach. If we are too exposed due to wind we can always change things up and cross the eastern gap and paddle up the inner channel of the Toronto Islands group. Bring along a lunch and any chocolate treats you want for the organizer. At this time of year a dry or wet suit is recommended to protect you in the event that you chose to go for a swim.
All are welcome. Please leave a note on this post so we know who to expect. If you indicate that you are planning on attending and run into any issues, eg. being late, give me a call on my cell and let me know.

Looks like there will be three of us joining you for the tour.
The girls are bringing me along to help them load their boats on and off the vehicles ;)
I assume the meet time is 10:00 am as usual.

All those who are interested we are going to paddle the lower Grand River from the NewPort Bridge to Caledonia. The trip length is about 4 to 5 hours plus 30 min shuttle time. The starting point will be the NewPort Bridge. Meeting time will be 10:00 am sharp so that we can work out the logistics of the shuttles.
Directions:
Take the 403 towards Bantford. Exit at Garden Ave (Exit 41) and go south. Shortly below the 403 Garden Ave makes a turn. You DO NOT want to turn. You want to go straight onto County Road 18. Follow CR 18 for 5-10 minutes until you reach the lights at Cockshutt Road. Right onto Cockshutt Road and take the first right onto Newport Road. Stop under the bridge and we will meet there at 10:00 am.
All those interested in this paddle please post notice on this site so that we know who to expect.
Hope to see you there Ralph ( Cell 905-601-2100)
