I am leading a group of Halton Outdoor Club paddlers out from Cherry Beach to the Toronto Islands this Sunday, October 25th.
Put in is at Cherry Beach which is at the south end of Cherry St in Toronto. Google Maps will get you there.
Put in at 10:30-sharp with a 2:30 - 3:00 finish
We will put in at the beach and head west across the Eastern gap and enter the Toronto Harbour. We will enter the islands and take a leisurely paddle through them.
At some point, and place, we will stop for the lunch you brought with you.
Depending on lake conditions and paddler ability we will portage over Hanlans Point form the Trout Pond and return to Cherry Beach on the south side of the islands in the lake. Those not wishing to return this way can head back through the islands.
Please dress appropriately for the conditions of the day. Please bring a change of clothing with you in the boat. Shore will never be more than 75 metres away so even in the event of a capsize you will be in dry clothes in minutes.
Distance for this trip is approx 12-14 km and I imagine we will be out or 3-4 hours.
Rentals are available from learntokayak.ca at learntokayak.ca@gmail.com or 905-399-1216 for a ridiculously low price. Delivery to Cherry Beach may also be available for a small fee. Ask them.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks Alan for posting the paddle. For those of you who couldn't make it, next time!
We paddled on the outside of the Island and stopped for lunch on the baseball diamond. Once we were ready to leave and had portaged our kayaks to the trout pond we looked back onto the baseball diamond and two white tail deers walked out!!! Crazy to think that there are deer living on the Island. There were some pictures taken which I will try and get hold of and post on the site!
