What's the difference between a soft and hard chine kayak

Hello Dympna and James,

I want to know more about hard chines verses soft chines.
Right now I am in a Boreal Designs Fjell, which is a reverse-hard chine kayak. Will it make much difference to my paddling experience if I were in a soft chine boat?
